Country star Miranda Lambert is set to make her primetime acting debut. The "Baggage Claim" singer will appear on the next season of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit as an actress who is sexually assaulted by a reality television producer.

This is Lambert's first acting role and also, apparently, a personal dream of the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. As she tweeted on Saturday, "Yall I'm so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever!!!" Her episode will feature several other music stars: the sleazy producer will be portrayed by Michael McKean, who rocked out as singer David St. Hubbins in This Is Spinal Tap, and Broadway mainstay Harry Connick, Jr., will also appear as part of a four-episode arc.

Lambert's husband, fellow country musician Blake Shelton, is advancing his own small-screen career as well: he returns as a judge on the NBC singing competition The Voice on February 5th, following the Super Bowl.
