Email this interview Printable version Miami based producer Danny Daze is responsible for the biggest underground hit of Miami WMC 2011 with ?Your Everything?. The track caught the ears and hearts of Jamie Jones and Lee Foss and was played up to three times a night by the likes of Seth Troxler and Art Department soon becoming a staple of their sets. The B-Side ?Fall Away From Love? carries a more uplifting old-school house vibe and has garnered support from Azari & III and Classixx among others. Both tunes display Danny?s versatility and indisputable gift for a groove which seeps into his amazing DJ sets, one of which he will playing at the Potty Mouth Halloween rave up in Shoreditch on October 28th. We caught up with him for a quick chat before he arrives in the UK ready to unleash his skills to the masses.
How did you get signed to Jamie Jones label Hot Creations?
DD: "Your Everything" just got passed down through friends, then they heard "Fall Away From Love", then they said we want ?em, then we high fived. That's basically it.
Does your Cuban background influence the music you make at all?
DD: Definitely does, my older stuff has Latin influence. The recent Hot Creations release is more influenced by my old school electro sounds though.
What is your tune of 2011?
DD: Hhhhmmmmmm, I better say "Your Everything" or my ego is gonna kick my ass, but honestly I think it's a song that came out in 2010 ?. Superpitcher - Joanna ?.. I've ended every set with it this year.
Which country has the best club scene?
DD: Europe overall is massive, every country though enjoys different sounds and that?s the fun part. I can't say one country is better than the other.
